How Big My Boys Are Now

**Warning- Mommy is very sleepy...and if my sentences are cattywompus like, please forgive me. :)**

Well, today was the 4 month and 2 year check-ups. Wow. What amazing little men, I have! Here are their updates:

Matthew- Matthew is 24 1/4 inches and 14 lbs. He is in the 25 %tile for each. His head, however, is catching up with brothers. His head is in the 75th %tile. Oh dear! haha. The doctor is pretty concerned about his eczema and is almost 100% certain that he has asthma. They are going to start him on asthma medicine in two months, because there's nothing approved for little ones under 6 months of age. So, we just have to pray that he doesn't have any attacks or issues, until he can start on the medicine. If he does start exhibiting severe issues, then we might have to resort to a nebulizer, before medicine. I just hope it doesn't come to that! I was told that he will have to be on the meds for AT LEAST 1.5 years. Poor little man :(. Everything else was great! His hernia is even gone!!! yay! :) He did get four shots that made him SCREAM at decibels beyond anything I've ever heard.

Adam- This child is just amazing. (toot, toot) He is 35 inches (oh dear. That means his projected final height is almost 6 feet tall!!) and 27 lbs. So, he's tall and skinny. :) They did a verbal and motor skills assessment, to see at what age level he is. From everything they did to him (had him jump on one foot, talking to him, have him draw lines and circles, say numbers, etc. etc.) they assessed him at 3.5 years old! WHAT? I know it's just an estimate, but I am still shocked. Not that I didn't think my little man was smart, but I had no idea he knew some of the things he was telling the doctor. I'm so proud of him. And, he had a lead test, too. Why not? Who knows what toys he sucked on, or what he's been exposed to, so I went ahead and had the test done. He loved that he was bleeding; he kept saying "look mommy! Bleeding in tube!" haha. Silly boy.

And for your viewing pleasure.... More hot chocolate fun. :)

interesting about the little "test" they put adam through... our pediatrician doesn't do that. she almost never asks any questions at all. well.... she always settles down and converses with bean and plays with her a little then asks if i have any questions. i guess she gets everything she needs to know that way!

adam is almost the same size as bean was at 2 years- she was a 1/2 inch taller and 6 ounces lighter!

Glad your boys are growing well.

My girl had the lead test - came back negative - I guess they need to do a lot of lead chewing to get exposed.

Thanks for your comment about the pyloric stenosis - it was terrifying and well so much more to the story that I haven't even told yet. As for the eczema - my girl had it soooo bad - like to the point it was raw and bleeding on her face, arms, and bum... She has allergies and as soon as we gave her no soy/dairy it went away - like - within days. She has also had nebulizers many a time so I understand your frustrations and will be thinking of you and praying for you boy that he does not need the asthma meds. Sometimes asthma improves with a dairy free diet - might be worth trying for a few days.

Yea! That's what I was going to say. Try some dietary things and even some natural remedies before going down the asthma meds route. My nephew and niece have had issues in both these areas and in both cases a food allergy was a culprit. One was egg and I can't remember the other. Are you breast or bottle feeding. (sorry I can't remember if you've said)In the end f you have to medicate you have to, but its always worth trying something else first.
Love the video again.

Sounds like the boys are pretty healthy! I hope something works out with the asthma instead of going to meds...but if that's the case then hopefully it doesn't have to be for too long!

"Bleeding in tube!" wow, that's got to be the most enthusiastic response to a blood test ever! That's cool they did that devlopment test for Adam, and he passed with flying colors! You are right to be proud! I hope our dr will do something like that, but he's usually in & out with hardly a word - it frustrates me and I'm thinking of finding another doctor. I'm sorry about Matthew's eczema and asthma, but the good thing is that there are ways to help that these days. But hopefully you will be able to find a diest-based/homeopathic solution!

3.5 You have a smarty on your hands, there both growing so well. You must be proud mommy.

How do they diagnoise the astma? Rebecca has excema (always has) and i think she may have astma to but the doctors say no. She is really weazy and gets out of breath so easily. Hope your wee guy does ok
