They want to look at my WHAT?

(Ignore the font change. Blogger is being stupid...and I can't fix it! grr)

So, I was desperate yesterday... I decided I needed a doctor, and I needed one FAST! My lingering stomach pains and lack of keeping food down, from last weekends escapades, finally made me snap! So, I called an internist (suggested by my MIL- thank you, MIL! :)) and the nice lady could tell I was in need of help, and fast! AND they got me in TODAY!

And I am pleased to say that I.AM.NOT.CRAZY. Nor am I making up these symptoms, or exagerating them, or whatever. Finally someone looked at me and said "I have an idea, I think I know what it is!" WHAT? This doctor is my newest BFF.

Ok, so here's the skinny:

* I have to have a colonoscopy in the next couple of weeks.
* She thinks I might have IBS.
* She also took 50 million gallons of blood. Ok, it wasn't that much, but it sucked and it seemed like that much.
* She is testing EVERYTHING! My thyroid, my metabolism, my sugar levels, my white/red blood cells, etc.
* If it's not IBS or something from the blood work, then she said she had more tests.
* SHE GAVE ME
DRUGS! WOO! She gave me something to help settle my stomach/bowels in case I need it. thank GOD. :)

Overall, I feel so much better. I just feel better having someone finally have an IDEA of what's going on.

I feel like I am finally going to get to the bottom of this.

Matthew agrees....

Ah HAH!!!! Well any idiot would have suggested something like that (and two of us DID)it was OBVIOUS there was something wrong with your GI!!! NOW, just let them get down and FIND it whatever it is!!!!!
I am so glad someone is listening to you at last.
We wait with bated breath for the results. Meanwhile, I am delighted that a) you are the computer the same time as me and b) that what they gave you is making you feel better.

Good, glad they are finally trying to get to the bottom of it. Colonoscopy isn't that terrible. The prep is what sucks but be careful what you eat the few days leading up to it and the prep won't even be that bad. Praying for you sweets as always

Have they tested you for mono? My brother had mono and was so sick for almost a year--a lot of IBS type stuff, and just generally being in pain all the time that he was unable to eat.

I hope you are able to find some answers soon!

Pat and several of my friends have IBS. I didn't even think of that when you were talking about your symptoms. There's so much you can do with working with it to make it better! Thank heavens someone is figuring things out for you!

Yay for finally getting some answers! I'm glad you found someone that's actually listening to you and looking for the real cause. I'm just sorry it's taken so long! My Dad has IBS, it can make life a living hell but there's also a lot that can be done for it!

Well, Finally! Yes, sometimes you just need to change doctors. They are not all the same or know the same things! This new doctor sounds like she is actually doing her job, so YAY for that! Hopefully she gets it figured out for you.

I couldn't resist commenting on this because of the "getting to the bottom of this" pun ... whether intentional or not, it till made me chuckle.

As I mentioned on your other posts, I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time and I hope they fix you up ASAP so you can get back to loving on those boys ASAP!
