Happy 5 Months, Matthew!
My Dear Love, Matthew-
Five months ago I awaited your birth, with excitement and fear. Could I handle another child? Let alone another boy? But then I thought about the joy you brought me, while you were growing inside of me, and I knew that the joy you would bring in our family would be 100 times that feeling. I was right. You are an amazing little man! You make me smile, on a daily basis; you have a blissful soul and a gentle nature.
You are growing and becoming your very own person. You are doing all of the normal milestones, for your age, and you are exceeding my expectations, everyday! You've said "dada," for nearly a month now, and don't worry, I still love you even though you won't say "mama." (haha) I think you say "hi," but daddy isn't so sure.
You like to sit up (with some help), play in your walker, roll to various destinations, and just tonight you "caterpillar crawled" across the floor. I fear within the next month, you will be moving at speeds faster than I want you to be. I think you'll be crawling about the same time big brother did (6 months), just so that you can keep up and follow big brother around. The look in your eyes, when you watch your big brother, is already full of admiration and glee! He, too, returns that look and loves you VERY much!
You still aren't sure of this solid food concept. You don't really like carrots, sweet potatoes, or apple sauce. You do, however, like oatmeal and rice cereal. Maybe you'll love "real" veggies over the sweet ones? That's mama's boy. ;)
There's so much more to the things you do, but I'd have to write a novel to list them all. You are an amazing son, thus far, and I am sure you will be even more amazing in the coming weeks, months, and years.
Mommy and Daddy love you, Little Bear. :)
