Reflection

Every now and then I like to reflect on the things going on around me or in my life. My mom read me an entry from her personal journal, this evening. My mom has never shared anything like that, with me, before and I really thank her for letting me be apart of her personal thoughts. It really made me think. She really blessed me with some insight on situations and how we need to react to them.

Some kids were in a car accident, over the weekend, in my area. It's really impacting the community and many of the young kids I know. The article, about the crash, can be read here.

I guess my moms journal entry, the death of Baby Ethan, this car accident... and other situations in my life are just really making me think. Many people can see these sad events and blame God. I UNDERSTAND wanting to blame God... and I even find myself sad and hurt that God allows these things to happen. However, I take comfort in knowing that he has a reason for ALL of us on Earth- some of us just fulfill our purpose before others. HOW fortunate are those who DO! We are all still here because we have yet to fulfill our purpose- whatever that might be.

I'm not really sure where this is going. I am just so thankful for life. I am so thankful for a healthy family. I am thankful for wonderful friends. I am thankful for knowing God. I am thankful.... just thankful.

Asking why isn't the answer. Act. We need to act and do! We need to love one another and we need to be thankful for each day we have with the ones we love. And I am. I am so thankful.

So- thank you dear friends and family! You are all wonderful people to me and I am so blessed to have you all! :)

Smile- it's a beautiful day!

Thanks Brittany. I know firsthand how easy it is to blame God. The thing is, will I choose to praise Him for the good and blame Him for the bad? God is incapable of bad. How can we as Christians explain the bad? I don't have good answers. It is a true test of faith, I think. We are shaped by our responses to evil and bad. There is another picture going on in heaven and the spiritual world that we do not have eyes to see. We can trust that God loves us all. We, who are called to Him, can rest easy in that. NO MATTER WHAT. I just feel for those that don't know that peace. I can't imagine going through hubby's cancer without it. I would be lost.

KEEP BELIEVING

I just heard about that car crash today! I can't even imagine what their families must be feeling right now! You are so right about how it puts things in perspective! We don't know what tomorrow holds so enjoy today as much as we can and be thankful for the little things!
I must say, I am thankful for new blogger friends! :)

Such a sweet post, Mommee. A verse to consider. . .

2 Corinthians 13:5

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

You are such a positive person, Brittany. I love that!

When I was 20 my boyfriend died in a car accident. He was driving when he was overtired. After getting through that, I realized we really have to appreciate what we have while we are here on this Earth. You don't know how long you have to love those closest to you.

I don't think anything bad ever comes from God. God only brings good into our lives. Life is hard. Bad things happen. The bad things make us stronger and prepare us for heaven. That is just my take.
Great post. :)
