To My Dearest Matthew-

How can it be? How are you, my beautiful little man, already one year old? It seems like just yesterday that I ran home, to tell Daddy about the "good news!" It seems like yesterday that you were kicking around, in my belly, and just waiting to come out and meet the world.

What a wonderful day July 9th, 2007 was! Not only was mommy VERY ready to meet you, but I had no idea the impact you would make on the entire family. Matthew, you are the gentle soul, the smiling sweetheart, the bubbly personality, and the LOVE of our lives. Mommy, Daddy, and Adam cherish you, Matthew. We are so blessed to have you as ours, and so thankful that the Lord knew that we were to be YOUR family.

I pray for you daily, my love. I pray that you will continue to grow physically, spiritually, and mentally. I pray for your well being. I thank God for you. I thank him for knowing you, before we even knew you would be in our lives. I thank him for knowing what He has in store for your future, and that He will guide you through it all. (and hopefully He will make mommy strong enough to help you grow, as well!)

I love the way you laugh at Sadie (even when she tries to lick you in the mouth- ew!), I love how you say "hi, there" and "what's that?" I love that you are just a little unsure of walking, and find that crawling will get you places faster (or away from Adam faster!). I love that you eat all of your food, and sometimes mine. I love that you want me to hold you, and comfort you. I love how you dance to rock music (only rock music). I love that you are almost always smiling when I get you up in the mornings, because even when I'm still sleepy, I have to smile. I love you, Matt. I love you. I love you.
