"No, Adam" seems to be my favorite phrase these days.
Here's a typical conversation, following Adam doing something he shouldn't:
Me: "No, Adam, that is not nice!"
A: "I help you mama"
Me: "Adam, shoving Cheerios up Matthew's nose is not really helping me."
A: "I help you mama, see!" (Again, trying to shove a Cheerio up Matthew's nose)
Me: "Adam, Adam, Adam. We need to let mommy feed Matthew, ok? You need to be nice to Matthew. He's your brother and you need to love him."
A: (in a very sweet and tender voice) "Jesus loves me...." Oh yes, that's right... he resorts to singing "Jesus Loves Me."
Me: "Yes, Bubba, Jesus loves you. And you need to show His love to Matthew, by not hurting him" (Oh...he's one fortunate kid to have Jesus on his side... because...whew... soooommme days)
A: "Mama, Mama..." (as he grabs my face so we are nose to nose) "I hungry mama"
Me: "You just ate five minutes ago. Remember your waffle?"
A: "Eggs and milk, please."
Me: "Maybe you can have that later. Can you tell your brother you are sorry for hurting him? And tell him you love him?"
A: "Jesus loves me..." (clever little child)
Me: "Adam. Your brother, please"
A: "Machew... Jesus loves you..."
Me: TRYING NOT TO SCREAM!!!! "Adam, you need to apologize to your brother and tell him you love him, please"
A: "Machew... I loave you and I sowwy"
Me: "Thank you Adam, that was very nice!"
And...as I walk away... Adam picks up a Cheerio and shoves it up his brother's nose... SIGH.
Don't forget to enter my contest! :) You have until Tomorrow night at midnight!

Ah, that's familiar territory...
Ha,ha...oh, I so know how those conversations go! It must be a first-born thing... =)
Don't you just love selective listening? It's so cute (in the drive-you-insane kinda way).
hmmmmm, so this is what i have to look forward to?!?!?!
in pants on head news, bean wanted to wear her pull-up on her head to library today. i blame adam. ;)
ahahahahaha!!
Oh, he is just too smart. Little stinker! Brothers. hehe
Maybe he'll be a singer one day?...:-)
LOL, have you seen the "No, David" book? It about sums it all up.
I have determined that if I elimintated the words "no" "please don't" and "stop" that I might not have much to say at all. I swear I'm not the most negative person on the face of the planet, but there is nothing that can try your patience like toddlers...
It's a good thing they're cute, or I think that the human race might just die right out!
I love the picture at the end to highlight his personality!
Cheerios dissolve easily, right? Isn't that what the pediatrician is always saying? Heh.
thanks for stopping by the blog party! I'm bookmarking you. I love your site. The photos are terrific!!!
have determined that god made toddlers just to try your patience, But you have to love them.
You are having too TOO much fun with photoshop. Everytime I see something on your blog the photo is changed and doctored - your header, your profile pic, etc. Funny.
My children have selective hearing and still give me the kind of help I could do without. I posted on it and entitled it that once.
KEEP BELIEVING
Yep, that is definitely a look that Jesus loves! He's adorable that Adam!
I know I shouldn't laugh, because I know all too well the frustration you're feeling...but it really is funny! "Jesus love me." I love him, too!!
At least they weren't Kix. That was Katie's cereal of choice, and trust me, they're a lot bigger.
My mom, though, went for walnuts. Who sticks walnuts (and not the chopped kind!) up their nose!!
Oh, what I have to look forward to!
Maybe he figures since they fit so nicely up Matthew's nose, that's where they should go.
Funny how they learn so early exactly the right thing to say - men!
Ahhhh.... yes!
GREAT post.
How cute!! They are all lucky they have Jesus on their sides - how cute!
Have a good Friday - see you later. Kellan
He is one smart little guy! Just wait--they get even more clever as they get older! Boys!
LOL...they all go through that don't they?? They are lucky they are so cute when they frustrate their mommas so much. ;)
"I loave you", LOL I hope he doesn't try to stick a loave of bread up his nose next time! Ha! Just kidding!!!!
HAHA!! It's a vicious, endless cycle.
Oh the joys! You may like my latest post about a wee spider...
I love all the pictures with the pants on their heads! And oh, how I feel your pain, even with only one child.
